If you're looking for an Indiana Jones Costume... then you've come to the right place!

Indiana Jones CostumeBut... first I'll give you a little background and history on Indiana Jones.

The Indiana Jones story is quite interesting and you might find it more enjoyable to know a little background before you make your Halloween Costume selections.

Indiana Jones CostumesIndiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford, was first introduced in the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark, set in 1936.

Indaina Jones is portrayed as an adventurous throwback to the 1930s films of serial treasure hunters and pulp action heroes, with an alter ego of Doctor Jones, a respected archaeologist at Marshall College... a fictional college in Connecticut.

The Nazis are led by Jones's archrival, a Nazi-sympathizing French archaeologist named René, and Arnold Toht, a sinister Gestapo agent.

In 1984 the movie, Indiana Jones and the , set in 1935, took the character into a more horror-oriented story, skipping his legitimate teaching job and globe trotting, and taking place almost entirely in India.

This time, Jones attempts to recover children and the Sankara Stones from the bloodthirsty Thuggee cult.

Young Indiana Jones in The Last Crusade his third film, 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, set in 1938, returned to the formula of the original, reintroducing characters such as Sallah and Marcus Brody.  You also saw  a scene from Professor Jones's classroom, the globe trotting element of multiple locations, and the return of the infamous Nazi mystics, this time trying to find the Holy Grail.

The film's introduction, set in 1912, provided some back story to the character, specifically the origin of his fear of snakes, his use of a bullwhip, the scar on his chin, and his hat.

The film was a buddy movie of sorts, teaming Jones with his father, often to comical effect.

Although Lucas the director intended at the time to do five films, this ended up being the last, as Lucas could not think of a good plot element to drive the next installment.

The 2008 film, , became the latest film in the series. Set in 1957, some 19 years after the third film, it pits an older, wiser Indiana Jones against Soviet agents bent on harnessing the power of a crystal skull discovered in South America by his former colleague.

Indiana aided in his adventure by an old lover, Marion Ravenwood, and her son—a young greaser named Mutt , later revealed to be his biological child Henry Jones III.

other “ministries, are all compounding to bring about the great falling away Jesus warned us about. The thing I find so amazing is that it has been creeping in, slowing moving, barely audible for the past 30-40 years (actually since the 1900's Azuza Street) and Christians have just slowly but surely taken it all in. Have slowly started 'accepting' the trash that's being fed to them and those same people are now calling it truth! Oh it breaks my heart.

I don't know your age, but you may be able to do this: think back 50, 40 or even 30 years. Divorce was not “the norm”, homosexuality was a known entity but no one discussed it, let along watched it on TV -because people still “knew” that it was wrong and not something you ever wanted to see coming into you own home. Kids were kids but they still just knew to honor their parents, rebellion wasn't common place, violence was something you only read about, you never saw children shooting other children in school yards or anywhere for that matter. When there was killing being discussed on TV it was Walter Cronkite telling us how many soldiers had been killed that day in Viet Nam. It was an entirely different time in life. No, it wasn't all roses but it surely wasn't anything like it is today.

Now we have organizations like IHOP. IHOP takes all the kids and adults who've never wanted to grow up, and has told them you can have what you want and you can have it right now! All of them are just so happy that they don't have to go thru that “religious nonsense” their parents went thru (like church, Bible studies, witnessing and the like) that they can just pray a certain way for a half hour and by doing that, can feel good about themselves, about life, about god, about flowers, daisies, dogs and cats. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen come into the church. But what's the most amazing to me is that it isn't even a Christian thing they're doing! That contemplative prayer thing? I didn't really understand it at first but you'd have to be an imbecile not to recognize that it isn't from your bible. Those people in India have been praying that way for ions. I'm telling you, this is the great falling away that Jesus told us about. It is happening now as I speak.

I went into a Christian bookstore last week to buy a Bible recording for my granddaughter. There was shelf after shelf after shelf of what I call “lost Christian junk”. Joel Osteen books, tapes, CD's, T-shirts; Joyce Meyers (same stuff less the T's), Rick Warren's Purpose Driven arrayment, Max Lucado things – which I used to love Max Lucado things but Max started promoting the same garbage as the others and well, now you know how I feel about his items. The one that just made me stand there like a fool shaking my head was Benny Hinn. Benny had his own display case. I thought to myself, “I thought this was a Christian bookstore. These people are just selling whatever they can to make a dollar.” There were Jesus bookmarks, Jesus door stoppers, Jesus Holloween costumes 90% off, Jesus paper weights and the list just goes on and on.

You spoke correctly. It is heresy and it breaks my heart that so many are buying into it. And don't you know that if it's breaking this woman's heart, it is crushing our God in heaven's so much more.

Those of us who actually do see what's really happening have that much more of the responsibility to pray for those who are in the process of being deceived.

I hope you'll join me in that.]]>

big opening sequences of the first two flicks. I didn't care much for “Temple of Doom,” but you can't beat Willie Scott bursting through the screen in her red sequin dress as the opening credits roll and then busting into a Chinese rendition of “Anything Goes.”

Still, it was lovely to see the two main leads again, and if nothing else, the nostalgia factor ran HIGH, especially during those times when they played Indy's march and Marion's love theme.

Cheers,
